❤️ Marybelle Moments: The Heart Behind the Name Who Was Marybelle? If you've ever wondered why our name is Marybelle Transportation Services, there is a story behind it.Marybelle wasn't a transportation company. She was my mother. She was funny, loving, strong, and the kind of mother whose house became the house where all the neighborhood kids wanted to be. They came for the laughter, the food, the love, and because Marybelle knew how to make people feel welcome. She could be outside dancing and clowning around with us one minute, and the next minute remind you very quickly that she was still the parent! She believed in education, responsibility, and protecting the things no one could take away from you.One lesson she gave me has stayed with me throughout my life:“If you don't have anything else in life, you have your name and your credit.” As I've grown older, I've realized that she gave me something even greater: an example of how to treat people. That's the spirit behind Marybelle Transportation Services. Yes, we provide transportation, but the heart of this company has always been about people, dignity, kindness, laughter, and making someone feel cared for.Our transportation services may be temporarily paused, but Marybelle's story isn't.That's why we're introducing Marybelle Moments: a place where we'll share encouragement, senior resources, caregiver support, community stories, a little laughter, and some of the lessons Marybelle left behind. The wheels may be resting, but the heart of Marybelle is still moving. ❤️

Marybelle Monday #2It Started with a Ride Home from the StoreWhen I started Marybelle Transportation Service, I imagined helping people get to medical appointments, dialysis treatments, and healthcare facilities. Then one day, the phone rang.A woman who lived alone needed a ride home from the store. That was it.No emergency. No doctor's appointment. She had simply finished shopping and needed someone she could trust to get her safely home.During that ride, we talked about life, family, and the little things that bring us joy. What I didn't realize at the time was that this simple trip would become the beginning of a wonderful friendship.Over the weeks and months that followed, she called again.Sometimes it was for a hair appointment.Sometimes it was to have her nails done.Sometimes it was grocery shopping. And sometimes, she simply wanted to get out of the house. Those rides reminded me that loneliness can be just as challenging as any medical condition. For many seniors, transportation represents freedom, independence, and connection. A simple ride can mean seeing familiar faces, enjoying a favorite meal, or feeling part of the community again. That first client taught me one of the greatest lessons I've learned as a business owner: we're not just driving people, we're helping them continue living their lives.I'll always be grateful that one simple ride home from the store became the beginning of something much greater. At Marybelle Transportation Service, we believe every destination matters because every person matters.Because every ride has a story... and every story matters.

Marybelle Moments #1Why Every Ride MattersEvery business has a beginning. Some begin with a great business idea. Others begin with a desire to make a living.Marybelle Transportation Service began with love. The company is named after my mother, Marybelle, whose kindness, strength, and compassion shaped the woman I am today. She believed that every person deserved to be treated with dignity, respect, and genuine care. Those lessons stayed with me throughout my career in healthcare, where I spent decades caring for patients as a medical professional. As I watched the growing need for dependable transportation for seniors and individuals with disabilities, I realized something important. People weren't just struggling to get to doctor's appointments. Many were missing family gatherings, church services, grocery trips, and simple moments that most of us take for granted because they didn't have reliable transportation.I wanted to change that.Marybelle Transportation Service was created to provide more than transportation. It was built to give people the confidence to remain independent, the comfort of knowing someone truly cares, and the peace of mind that they will be treated like family every step of the way.Every client who rides with us reminds me why this business exists. Every trip is an opportunity to serve someone with compassion, patience, and kindness, the same values my mother instilled in me.As we begin this new series, Marybelle Moments, I'll be sharing some of the stories that have touched my heart over the years. Some will make you smile. Some may bring a tear to your eye. All of them remind me that transportation isn't simply about getting from one place to another. It's about helping people stay connected to the people, places, and moments they love.Thank you for allowing Marybelle Transportation Service to be part of those journeys.Because every ride has a story... and every story matters.

The Ride Is Only Part of the JourneyImagine you've just had surgery. You're tired. Maybe you're still feeling the effects of anesthesia. You're using a walker, a wheelchair, or simply don't have the strength you normally do.Now ask yourself...Would you feel comfortable being dropped off at the curb and told, "Have a nice day"?For many people, that's simply not enough. That's where Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) makes all the difference. At Marybelle Transportation Service, we don't believe transportation starts when you get in the vehicle. It starts the moment we arrive and continues until you're safely where you need to be.We understand that every client has different needs. Some may only need a ride, while others need a helping hand, assistance with mobility equipment, or someone to safely escort them into a medical facility. To us, it's never just about driving. It's about peace of mind. It's about dignity. It's about making sure our clients, and their families, know someone truly cares.Whether you're traveling to dialysis, physical therapy, chemotherapy, a follow-up appointment, rehabilitation, or another important medical visit, our goal is simple:To make every trip safe, comfortable, and compassionate.Because when someone is already dealing with health challenges, transportation shouldn't be another worry. At Marybelle Transportation Service, we believe every person deserves to be treated with kindness, patience, and respect. We're not just taking you to an appointment... we're helping you continue your journey toward better health.❤️ Because caring for people will always be our favorite destination.

A Conversation Every Family Needs to Have

What Are We Going to Do Now?Every day we turn on the news and see how much life is changing around us. Costs are rising. Programs are changing. Insurance companies are cutting back more and more every day. And for so many seniors, disabled individuals, and people living alone, one question keeps coming up:What are we going to do now? What is our plan when we need transportation to and from the doctor? What is our plan when we have a medical procedure and we live alone with nobody to pick us up afterward? What is our plan when we need dialysis treatments just to stay alive? What happens when our insurance transportation runs out, but our medical needs do not? Many people are finding themselves in difficult situations. Insurance companies that once allowed 10 rides a month are now cutting people down to 4 rides a month, and sometimes even less. Transportation companies that depended only on insurance reimbursements are struggling or even closing their doors. But our lives do not stop because insurance benefits change. Our doctor appointments do not stop. Our treatments do not stop. Our need to get out of the house, visit family, attend church, go shopping, or simply enjoy life does not stop. So, what do we do?Do we stay home and give up on life?Do we ask neighbors we barely know to take us places?Do we force loved ones to miss work during already difficult times?Or do we begin preparing now by finding reliable transportation we can trust? This is why private-pay transportation services are becoming more important than ever before. People are realizing they need dependable transportation solutions they can count on, even when insurance says “no more rides.”And not just any transportation service.People need transportation providers that understand medical transportation. Providers with trained drivers who understand safety, compassion, and professionalism. Drivers who are trained in wheelchair securement, CPR, first aid, defensive driving, background checks, drug screening, and patient care.Because when someone is vulnerable, recovering from surgery, attending dialysis, or simply trying to maintain their independence, feeling safe matters. At Marybelle Transportation Services, we understand these concerns because we come from a background of more than 30 years in the medical field. We understand that transportation is not just about getting from Point A to Point B.It is about dignity. It is about safety. It is about independence. And sometimes, it is about simply being able to live life and not feel trapped inside your home.Even if all you want is to go see a movie, visit family, attend church, or enjoy a day out, you deserve that opportunity. The world is changing, and many of the systems people once depended on are changing too. While we may not be able to control those changes, we can prepare ourselves and make better plans for the future. So again, we ask:What are we going to do now?Maybe the answer begins with finding safe, compassionate, dependable transportation that helps you continue living your life with confidence and peace of mind.
