Who Was Marybelle?

If you've ever wondered why our name is Marybelle Transportation Services, there is a story behind it.

Marybelle wasn't a transportation company. She was my mother.

She was funny, loving, strong, and the kind of mother whose house became the house where all the neighborhood kids wanted to be. They came for the laughter, the food, the love, and because Marybelle knew how to make people feel welcome.

She could be outside dancing and clowning around with us one minute, and the next minute remind you very quickly that she was still the parent! She believed in education, responsibility, and protecting the things no one could take away from you.

One lesson she gave me has stayed with me throughout my life:

“If you don't have anything else in life, you have your name and your credit.” 

As I've grown older, I've realized that she gave me something even greater: an example of how to treat people.

That's the spirit behind Marybelle Transportation Services. Yes, we provide transportation, but the heart of this company has always been about people, dignity, kindness, laughter, and making someone feel cared for.

Our transportation services may be temporarily paused, but Marybelle's story isn't.

That's why we're introducing Marybelle Moments: a place where we'll share encouragement, senior resources, caregiver support, community stories, a little laughter, and some of the lessons Marybelle left behind.

The wheels may be resting, but the heart of Marybelle is still moving. ❤️
