The Road That Raised Me

The Heart Behind Marybelle Transportation Service
When people ask me why I started Marybelle Transportation Service at 63 years old, I tell them the truth:

Because I was raised by strength.
Because I was raised by faith.
Because I was raised by two people who taught me that quitting was never an option.

I am the daughter of a mother who raised six children, and at one point, had to raise us alone. My mother was one of the strongest women I have ever known. She didn’t complain. She didn’t fold. She stood tall.

Her words still echo in my spirit:

“You only have two things in this life:  your name and your credit. Protect both.”

She taught me that education was something no one could ever take away from me. She wanted me to be able to stand on my own two feet, to never depend on anyone to survive. And one thing she never tolerated was mediocrity.

“If you’re going to do something, give it your all. Be your best. If you’re going to do it,  do it right.”

Those words built the foundation of who I am.

And then there was my father.

My father never sat still. Not one day of his life. He believed in doing something, always. His dream was to be an entrepreneur, and he lived that dream over and over again. From owning 7-Eleven stores, to 99-cent stores, to running a cleaning and custodial business,  he kept moving. Even when he had inventory left from his stores, he would take it to swap meets and sell it himself.

He never stopped trying.
He never stopped building.
He never stopped believing in the next opportunity.

Watching him taught me something powerful: it’s never too late to start, and it’s never wrong to try.

So at 63 years old, I decided to become an entrepreneur too.

Two years ago, I started Marybelle Transportation Service. I’ve officially been in business for a year now. And let me tell you,  this journey has not been easy.  And now, here I am at 65 years old, living out the dream I always had.

Some days the phone rings nonstop.
Some days it doesn’t ring at all.
Some days I have several rides scheduled.
Some days I have none.

There have been nights I couldn’t sleep, wondering how I was going to grow this business. Wondering if I was doing enough. Wondering if I made the right decision.

The transportation industry is not easy,  especially when you serve seniors, individuals with disabilities, and families who trust you with their loved ones. It takes work. It takes patience. It takes proving yourself over and over again. People are cautious about new companies, and I understand that.

But here’s what I know:

No business becomes successful overnight.
Anything worth having takes work.
And quitting has never been part of my story.

I wake up praying.
I go to bed praying.
I talk to my mother and father in my heart.

Their strength carries me.
Their work ethic grounds me.
Their legacy pushes me.

Even on the slow days, my spirit is not broken. Even on the hard days, my faith stands strong. The support of my siblings and friends reminds me that I am not alone in this journey.

Marybelle Transportation Service is more than a business. It is a reflection of everything my parents poured into me:  integrity, excellence, determination, and faith.

So if there is one thing I want you to take away from my story, it’s this:

Whatever you do in life,  give it your best.
If it’s worth having, it won’t be easy.
But don’t give up.

I have given this my best shot. And I will continue to give it my best, every single day, for as long as I am able.

Because that’s how I was raised.
And that’s the road that brought me here.

A Commitment You Can Trust

If you are a senior care facility, rehabilitation center, dialysis center, medical office, or a family member looking for dependable transportation for someone you love,  I invite you to get to know Marybelle Transportation Service.

This isn’t just a ride.

This is compassion.
This is patience.
This is reliability.
This is showing up when we say we will.

When you entrust someone to Marybelle Transportation Service, you are trusting a woman who was raised on integrity,  who understands the responsibility of caring for people who cannot always care for themselves. I know what it means when a family says, “Please take good care of my mother.” I feel the weight of that.  This is something that I had to say, everytime I had to leave my mother in the care of someone else.

And I don’t take it lightly.

We serve our clients with dignity, professionalism, and the same respect I would want for my own family. Every ride matters. Every client matters. Every day is an opportunity to do it right.

If you are looking for a transportation provider that values communication, consistency, and compassion,  I would love the opportunity to serve you.
